Flower id, white flower, distinctive leaves

    The plant is Bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis) the sap is red giving the plant its common name. The sap poisonous and can cause tissue damage and scaring. While I have some in the yard I leave it alone and just enjoy the flowers and interesting leaf shape.

    Very nice Bloodroot specimen. One of the first things to bloom here in the spring.
