Did the Foam Glo 5K last night with some friends.....an evening event with glowing foam (as the name suggests) under black lights, for a gimmick. Lots of fun! That's the foam off in the background, being dispersed over the crowd during the before-party. A different color every time a new song played. Some of Team DanceQuest (my ballroom dance studio Hanging out waiting for the start of the race. In line for our start. There were around 20,000 participants, so folks were released from the starting gate in waves, about 3 minutes apart. The finish line! Paige (my daughter) saw this photo and said it looked like I was at a rave!! And we're glowing!
Well, truth be told, I didn't actually run. I'm a senior citizen, so my full on running/jogging days are over at this point, I think. I do a sort of shuffling/speed walk/skippy thing. I imagine it looks pretty ridiculous but I'm SO past caring what it looks like. I'm just grateful I'm able to finish the course! I have another 5K coming up in a couple weeks...that one's called the Color Run. Similar concept except it's during the day, and it's a variety of colored powders instead of colored foam. Team DanceQuest will be doing that one as well....a few more of us for he Color Run I think. It will be fun!
Well done Ronni for completing the 5K run. Who cares if you didn't actually run, after all, you still managed to get over the finish line. You must be pretty fit to do that and contemplate doing it again in a couple of weeks. I take my hat off to you.
