    Hyacinth Bulbs ( photo / image / picture from drissel122's Garden )

I've had good luck forcing hyacinth bulbs that I received as a gift last fall. Here's a pic of them in various stages of development. I love to stop throughout the day and smell the lovely fragrance of the pink one that is blooming.

Mine too Netty. I would love to find an essential oil that really captured the scent, but so far, no luck.

Oh lovely!! :D There's nothing nicer than the scent of hyacinths in spring is there? Mine are poking up through the soil in their planters. However, they have a way to go yet before I can see and sniff their beautiful blooms.

*sniffs* I can nearly smell them all the way here. :D We use hyacinths for Christmas, but we really ought to use them later in winter too.
