Hyacinth Bulbs ( photo / image / picture from drissel122's Garden ) I've had good luck forcing hyacinth bulbs that I received as a gift last fall. Here's a pic of them in various stages of development. I love to stop throughout the day and smell the lovely fragrance of the pink one that is blooming.
Mine too Netty. I would love to find an essential oil that really captured the scent, but so far, no luck.
Oh lovely!! There's nothing nicer than the scent of hyacinths in spring is there? Mine are poking up through the soil in their planters. However, they have a way to go yet before I can see and sniff their beautiful blooms.
*sniffs* I can nearly smell them all the way here. We use hyacinths for Christmas, but we really ought to use them later in winter too.
