Found a redhead in a dry stream bed!

    This splash of red caught my eye and drew me into a neglected area of the yard. This dry stream bed is runoff from half the houses on our street, not sure if a neighbor's seeds didn't end up here!

    It's like catching a glimpse of a cardinal.

    Who knows what the rain and wind will deposit in that
    little niche. Pretty little red flower, wonder what it is.

    I took the picture from the road, so not so clear, I'll get down there tomorrow. It is even bigger today!

    Cris, that looks like Tropical Sage (salvia coccinea) which is native to much of the U.S. It self-seeds easily, so it is possible that it popped up in the dry stream bed.
