I wasn't sure where to put this post. Frank doesn't have a topic for compost and fertilizer. We went out to do some errands and have breakfast this morning and when we came home we found this load of compost in front of our house. It came from a farm so has manure, leaves, bark, etc in it. The neighbor got a huge truck of it last month and I guess he didn't use all of it. He gave us a wheelbarrow full when he got it. Now, we need to move it because it's outside the fence and there is a man in the neighborhood who feels anything outside the fence is free for the taking. He also thinks if you don't have a fence it's free for the taking. Everyone mostly just goes and gets the stuff back because he isn't malicious, just low IQ. I would have said retarded but that is not correct anymore. Oops! Getting on toward a blog here. Dooley
Wish I was close by Dooley - I might sneak a load of that aromatic stuff my way too. Take care when moving it - don't hurt yourselves.
Job all done. Dooley, dr, two shovels, two buckets and moral support from Chance and it has all been applied to various flower beds, 22 rose bushs, 5 apricot trees , 2 apple trees and various evergreen trees. Our neighbor hauled it over in his diesel power quad with a dump bed. About 600 lbs of it all told. Time for iced tea and a bagel. dr
Oh how I wish someone would drop off a load of 'black gold' for me!!! My front garden will take all of our home-made compost - all three bins of it.
