It's not unusual for me to see the full moon on my way to work on those fall mornings in the fall. Of course I don't have a camera and I am usually feeling rushed. It is unusual for me to see them on a morning that I am not working and have a camera at hand.

This morning was one of those rare occasions where the moon was there and I was motivated to chase that moon and take some pictures. Camera in hand it was down to the sound. I found a place to sit on cool wet grass trying to get the picture was a great way to wait for dawn this morning.

Waiting is hard for me so I decided to move down to the landing by the farmer's market, and the other docks.

The moon moved on and the sailboats were as always picture perfect.

And the plantings have matured with such a variety of grasses and sedges and one bush that I loved and would like to find for my own yard.

Then how could I not take a few pictures of the flowers in the parking lot??? Gosh I live in a great area...and I can still chase the moon.

Looks like you had a great chase, and thanks for sharing. Love all the pics. How much daylight do you have there now? It's pitch black here at 7:00 PM, and still dark at 6:00 AM. Nothing better than a full moon on a chilly day!

Thanks Petunia and Eileen for the kind comments.
kaseylib sunrise is at 7:15 AM and sunset at 6:45 PM, but they seem later and earlier. Won't be long before I am going to work and coming home in the dark. :(

What a delightful posting, Jewell. It was interesting how you went from the moon shots and then faded over to the plants. --A nice touch, and enjoyable to see as well.

Sjoerd my fading is probably more due to my scattered brain :) and it is hard not to notice such interesting plants. They have matured so much since last year at this time. I was disappointed when I got home that I hadn't take more flower pictures. The grasses and sedges looked so lovely in the morning light and I have just the place for the dwarf pampas grass.

Lovely photos Jewell, especially the fantastic ones of the moon. I have tried and failed I must admit, you must have a very good camera.

Lovely way to start the day... for you on that day, and for me this morning.

You know Jewell, it would have been very nice to see those grasses in late afternoon light. Perhaps you will get another chance. I would like to see them too.

Those Gailardias really have a speciual little place in my heart. A few years ago now, I plamnnyed a strip of them along the front of my flower garden (before the days of the rabbit fence). I did not stretch rtwing and make a furrow and plant them the recommended distance apart. I just shook the seeds out of my palm down the length of the row.
When they grew and flowered it was a mass of blooms that was so thick. They were nothing less than stunning. I have never done that since, as I have simply planted other things on rotation.
Every time someone posts a pic of a Gailardia on here, I remember that summer. Thanks for the memories.

Sjoerd ~ I probably was inclined to take the pictures of the Gailardia because I also used to have a beautiful bed of them by my drive way. Some how through time they disappeared and I have never replanted them. My yard has become so shaded that I now don't have many places left for the sun lovers. Glad you enjoyed the photos
