This ad appeared in today's local paper and I immediately got depressed:

First, I don't think it will be a joyful gathering. Secondly, I wonder what kind of door prizes a funeral home gives out.
It's nice of the Funeral Home to sponsor this, but one wonders if they have thought it through.

Jane, Everytime I go to calling hours at a local funeral home, I think the people must be dying to go there just because of all the incredible stuff in the garage that I see....

Get your tickets early.. door prizes might include things like a prepaid funeral planning event or maybe a casket upgrade or perhaps it is the set of new never been used golf clubs in the corner...Hopefully nothing that their clients were planning on taking and accidentally got left behind....

Oh boy,..i couldn't see it being a happy event,..there would be a weeping and a gnashing of teeth with sodden handkerchiefs.

Well I suppose you have to give them credit for a totally novel idea but I wonder if anyone actually turned up.

I'm going to try to get information about the attendance at this "fun" event. If I find anything out, I'll post.
Personally, I'm going to the local nursing home with cake for the clients, and valentines for each and every one, including the staff, who often get overlooked and underappreciated!
