All my tomato varieties (5) that I started on the 17th are now sprouted in pots, except 1 (Parks whopper). I have moved them to the bright lights. Maybe whopper and the Giant Cape Gooseberry will sprout soon and I can have the heat mat back for the old shoulder. Come ooonnn spring!! :-D

Yay! hope they sprout today. I would hate for you to have to go without the heat pad on your shoulder... You can make a rice bag and I think they feel better than a heating pad. I used a cloth diaper( because it was convenient) folded it in half, sewed up two sides and most of the third one, filled it with rice, sewed closed the remaining seam and then you heat it in the microwave for about 2 min. WALA...instant moist heat. and then when the cloth gets grungy, throw it in the washing machine with COLD water, wash , spin dry and let finish air drying before heating again.

Whoppers are up. The ground cherry is taking longer I guess. I have grown them before, different varieties so I don't remember the germination time. This is where that garden log would come in handy, lol.

How fun! I started seeds last year but they got to leggy(I need a light) but it made the last little bit of cold weather go by faster :)

I just run to town and buy what I want mostly. Can`t beat $1.89 a six pack. Especially when I plant around 75 tomato plants. That would be a lot of work to raise from seed. Not to mention space required.
