... something beginning with B. A bloom! Look what I found when crawling about in the garden looking for signs of plant life:

Hepaticas generally come in different shades of blue. My mother's got a double pinkishpurplish one, and I've got this little white beauty. I was amazed to see it in bloom now. The ground thaws out 1-2 cm (about half an inch) during the day IF the sun's out. There's solid frost underneath so now I worry about the little gem getting enough moisture. I'm not easily satisfied, am I? :D

You were crawling about in the garden when the ground is so cold? Rather you than me but finding that little beauty was well worth it. :-D
By the way did you know that the Japanese call it the "flower of happiness?"

Well eileen, I was very intent on my task, so I didn't feel the cold until I realized that my knees were wet. :D

No, I didn't know that the Japanese called it the flower of happiness, but as toni said, it fits to a T. :stew2:

It's still going strong and have two blooms now. :D I know it's not much but it's a lot better than nothing.
