EJ had twice remarked that she hoped that my bride sould scoop-up an armload of cut flowers for home. Well Yesterday she did, and here's what they looked like.
They are posing together in a bucket of water out at the lottie.
The flowers in this bouquet are white phlox and Crocosmia 'Lucifer' along with complimentary Laurel leaves added as filler.

I thought it was a modest bouquet, but when I see it in the vase, it looks like quite alot.

The mass of flowers were divided into half and bound with raffia for transport in bouquets.
Here is ours in the vase.

Now those are really lovely Sjoerd - much better than expensive bouquets from the shops anyday. I really like the red, white and green together. :stew1:

What a beautiful bouquet, the flower colors look so crisp together. Good way to make points with the M-I-L ;)

Absolutely stunning Sjoerd. I best they smell fab also. Glad she took them home - as lovely as it is to grow flowers and see them in the garden, I do think it is nice to cut a few to enjoy 'out of hours'.

Thanks for your nice comments everyone.
I liked the looks of this arrangement as well.
You are quite right, EJ...but it's so difficult for me to do it. hahaha. My partner has less problems with it, so I trailed around with the water bucket and she did the snipping. Each one snipped hurt a leedl bit. ;)

Very nice Sjoerd! Or should i say Mrs. Sjoerd! I always bring flowers into the house and have all over the place. It is nice to see them outside, but i really appriciate flowers since our season is so short and fast. I do bring alot of wild flowers into the vases too. They seem to last a very long time indoors and out.

Thanks for the nice words...I shall convey them to Mrs. Sjoerd. She'll be delighted, because she was really quite chuffed with the own handiwork too. chuckle.
Boy, those Phlox sure do smell good.
We always have at least one vase full of flowers in the house winter or summer...but of course having flowers from your own garden gives a special feeling.
Wildflowers make very good bouquets for the reason that you said--they last a long time.
Why don't you show what you pick for the house?
I already know that you folks have some good wildflowers there.
