I have taken a lot of insects in the garden. Here are a few that I will be putting in the web site later, Garden Insects
It must have taken quite a bit of time and patience to get those shots. Well done as they are so clear and, I would imagine, make IDing the different species so much easier. What a strange looking creature the Aculeate Wasp is.
Awesome photos. We have lots of bees this year...thanks for helping me ID some. I recently had a female robber fly that I was trying to identify. Thanks for sharing.
A frend of mine, Rob Cannings , is the top guy in Nirth America when it comes to robber flies. He has books and papers out about them. Here is a rare one. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
Hi Eileen. I do spend a lot of time trying to get some decent pics. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
Great photos for identifying members of the insect world. They outnumber us 100 million and we still have not identified all of them. Some even go extinct without us even noticing. Jerry
Killdale, thanks for sharing this with us! I saw a robber fly not long ago nor did I know what it was, But I was delighted to see it had a fly in it's jaws and was resting on the electric pole where I was picking raspberries. Now thanks to those really nice pictures I know what it is. I had one land on my windshield a few days later when I was getting gas, I drove down the road about a mile before I slowed way down hoping it would fly away and not be damaged by the wind blowing over it. I left it off in front of a farm, I hope they were thankful for that new beneficial insect I dropped there for them.
