I'm carefully watching your rose from seed. Your's is about twice the size of mine... and looks twice as healthy!

I'm impressed Philip as I've never managed to grow roses from seed. However, the birds must have made a 'deposit' in the garden and I see that I now have a briar rose sprouting which I'm delighted with. I didn't even have to 'baby' it along as it came complete with its own fertilizer and is doing well.
I grow a few different types of lettuce together and love it with chicken, beansprouts, tomatoes, mango chutney and grated carrot in wraps. :-D
Your strawberries appear to be at the same stage as mine. Once the fruit has formed I have to fight off the birds to get my share of the berries.

This latest update shows that things are progressing well there.
That variegated wallflower is an interesting sight.

Everything is looking great. Great idea to do the entire pest control routine    This makes for a healthier environment for the rest of your plants also, it's much easier to control a little than a lot.

    Hi Cheryl,
Just today i re potted the rose seedling that grew up in the hot house,..its now progressed to its third pot,..the other seedling is planted in its permanent position,..it will be interesting to see which grows quicker,..also keeping a watchful eye on both yours and mine.

    Hi Eileen,
a Briar Rose,..should be hardy,..and interesting to see it growing,..rapidly i would say,..any idea of the flower colour?,..oh my strawberries will have a chicken wire protection from the birds,..otherwise i get none,..the cats don't scare them off enough!,..ah good old reliable lettuce,..its sooo tasty when picked and eaten fresh.

    Hi Sjoerd,
the variegated wallflower!,..i really nicked the tip of the mother plant when i called to a premises of late,..took it home dipped it in rooting powder and it took root,..i have had wallflowers before,..beautiful scent,..this type is new to me,..frost killed my old one last winter.

    Hi Carolyn,
yes the pest control thing i am ever aware of,..with so many rose bushes you can be sure pests will arrive on them and if not controlled they take over the remainder of the garden.
