Doing what you love for all those years (and the whiskey of course) can add years to your life. Hope he has a fulfilling retirement.

I'd sure like to sit down and have a chat with him. Can you imagine all the gardening knowledge he has?

Oh what a lovely person.I hope he is able to continue his love.It would be such a shame if he became bed ridden.I like Deanna would love to have him tell me all his secrets. Its a shame he hasn't written a book.

I wonder if any gardener actually quits. Even those among us who have arthritis or other health issuses try to keep at it anyway. Maybe not as much as we'd like but it's in the genes, I guess. He's not quitting altogether, just concentrating on his own now. Quite inspiring. Dooley

That is so inspiring! What a fulfilling hobby, I can't imagine that it hasn't helped him to live so long

At the risk of sounding crass, when he passes away I think he is one man that you can rest assured really will be "pushing up daisies" :)

Neat story. I plan to garden 'til I die, even if I'm in a wheelchair!

I loved this story. He found what he liked and just kept at it as long as he possibly could. I hope he makes plenty of money with his vegetables
