I know I have to take it slow to get muscles used to being used again but only gardening about 1-2 days a month is slower than I would like.

Today it's getting warm, 82 last time I was out back and the sun directly on my back was uncomfortable after a while but I do feel so much better at finally being able to get started on the LOOOOOOOONG list of catch-up projects. During our last ice event I divided our front and back yards into sections and made notes of what needed to be done/planted/dug up/re-thought....today I got one done and part of another one started. I had to keep reminding myself to work on one section at a time from start to finish when something in another part of the yard caught my eye and imagination luring me away from the project at hand. As a result I didn't get as much done as I had hoped but the afternoons this week should be fairly comfy for more adventures in the garden.

Cleared off fallen leaves around the Chrysanthemums and planted about a dozen or so Gladiola bulbs around them. The wire fence sections that you can barely see are there to move around to give the Glads support when they start blooming. I think there are some Liatris on the far right but I have no idea if they will come back.

This bed was covered in leaves too. The mini-Iris and the Daffs have finished blooming but the Muscari are just beginning. When they all fade that leaves this area really bare and since I expanded it last Spring that's a lot of empty space. I planted Borage seeds all around the area so they will hopefully grow and fill in. Also the fence needed new gloves. A little later in Spring the tall Mexican Petunias, Passionflower Vine, Coneflowers and other perennials will take over too.

I was clearing out the fallen leaves closer to the house and found that the blue glass tree seeds I planted last Spring have sent up some nice looking saplings....and one slightly purple one that must be a new hybrid.

Next I have to work on the first backyard bed and get ready for a plant order that should arrive just any day.

Spring is such a wonderful time, and also full of aches and pains after a few months off! Glad to see you back in the dirt, enjoying your gardens.

The lure of the garden. It can be most tempting. I like the idea of a list. Most of the time I wander from project to project. Before I know it it's time foe supper.

If your blue glass garden puts out any seeds, I'd love some! ;)

Soooo jealous Toni! I am also chomping at the bit to get out into my gardens, but as I look out my window today it is a blizzard! We are expecting 10-25cm to add to the thick layer still on the ground.
    Love those blue glass saplings!

Happy to see you out there in the gardens "playing". I made a list of things in the fall that I wanted to change this year... things to get rid of or relocate. I've got the dead stuff out and most of the weeding done. Next step, cleaning out the leaves, adding mulch and then let the planting begin!
