    I had just posted a new photograph of myself in the thread,.."Are you Brave Enough To Post A Picture",..when a friend emailed to say there was a picture of me published in the Military Archives and they were looking for the identity of the guy in the middle of the picture,..lol its me gardening in Cyprus,..way back in 1962 when i was coming up to age 17 years.

    Maybe they are looking for a gardener,lol.

    Cute kid. You are about a year younger than me, if we had been in school together I would have been making eyes at you.
    At that age....pistol magazines or flowers.. I can understand which would keep your attention. ;)

    Did you have a copy of the photo before now or was it a surprise from the past?

    Hi Toni,
    lol,.. i was a tad slow with girls back then :oops: ,..didn't get to mix very much in Cyprus,..then the other places it was Taboo to even speak to them due to their religion and traditions,..its really a shock when you see yourself in a picture you are not familiar with from way back,..about 50 years, :eek: .

    If i met you back then i don't think i would be talking flowers,..sports cars perhaps.

    Flowers,San Francisco

    I never did manage to let my hair grow long,..Drat.

    Philip, you were a handsome young guy, but I just saw the updated photo you posted, and you are even better looking now.
    If you ever come to Texas, watch out--the ladies here will mob you! A good lookin' guy who gardens--we don't get many of those!

    Hi Theodoros,
    mostly good memories,..just a few bad ones,..Cyprus was a hot spot in those days,..the British had handed it over to the Cypriot Government after eighty two years of occupation and it was just after the Eoka war that i arrived there,..so did the Swedes,Austrians,Australian Police,Canadians,American Air Force,Danish Troops,Finnish Troops,of course there were British Troops still there plus Greek and Turk,..it was some experience mixing with all those.
    =====================================================

    Hi Droopy,
    i did start a flower garden in that camp as there were beautiful flowers in the area,..nobody passed any remarks, :) ,..they dared not,..i was always being called on the camp speaker to quickly go to some tent due to a large snake,scorpion or lizard and chameleon that had appeared and nobody would touch them,bar myself,i was always into stuff like that :rolleyes: ,..but gardening was in the blood from an early age.
