Hello! My name is Catt and I presently reside in Oklahoma. However due to financisl and physical difficulties In find myself having to sell my home and retire early and relocate to Puerto Rico to live with my daughter and grandchildren. I know it is zone 11, but I have been unable to find on the net what I would be best suited to growing as far as vegetables and flowers. Fruits I found. I would like to keep it as native as I can just as I did here in OK. I don't want to move in and start planting invasive species. Climbing things would be helpful, as I will be going from and acre and a half down to about a third of an acre. Ground covers are big on my list. In fact anything low maintenance is perfect because I have COPD. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx! Catt
Welcome to the Stew, Catt, from mid-Norway. I don't know anything about zone 11 gardening, but I'm certain someone will be along shortly to help you. Lots of knowledge on this site.

Thank you all for the welcome! I look forward to the experience here. I do hope someone can help me, after 6 years I am so used to gardening here. I am so familiar with it. When I go shop for plants, I know what I am looking for. When I move, it will be all new. Catt
Hi Catt Welcome to Gardenstew from southern Ontario! I am in zone 5 here so don't know anything about gardening in zone 11. It sounds like you are in for an amazing gardening adventure!
Hi there Catt and a warm welcome to our forums from Scotland. Puerto Rico is, as far as I know, tropical or sub tropical so when you move I'd take a look at what's on offer at nurseries and garden centres in your new home area. They should be able to guide you towards native plants that will be suitable for a garden in zone 11. If not then you could get in touch with a horticultural society in Puerto Rico, or surrounding areas, and see if they can help you out. Good luck. :-D
