Makes perfect sense. Which sceptics always doubted. However nobody over here will.

But since there's a study about it now - Means that it's going to be a lot of fun rubbing their face into it.

Years ago I read a similar study about machinists, (those who use a lathe and milling machine) - They too didn't experience much cognitive decline when in their golden years.

I guess it all boils down to 3 things working together like in a unison. Where the mind, body, and sensory oranges all collaborate.

Another similar study was that those who go on walks or jogging, or ride a bicycle once in a while as a recreational activity - Don't suffer as much from depression as compared to those who just drive, or sit in front of a couch and watch TV like Hommer Simpson all day, (or worse, become keyboard warriors online).

So it's all a combined package. The more we use all our abilities, (mental and physical), the more we benefit. Sounds so simple, like you wouldn't need any study to prove that - But I guess we did...

And gardening, well, that's the best recreational activity that there ever could be!

Gardening has helped my mood, kept my body.looking younger than it is ( excluding the face !! :p ) but just start asking me the names of all my plants and... old age brain farting ensues !! I KNOW the name of that plant, I just can't recall it . :dizzy:

I chalk that up to the fact that my head, after 71 years, is so full of information that it's like fighting your way through the home of one of those folks on the TV show "Hoarders". You gotta push things aside to get to what you need and it just takes a while to get there . :D. An hour later...HYDRANGEA !! that was it. :smt044:smt044:smt044

This TED talk really needs to be seen and understood. As it's no joke. And it's been 9 years since this video was recorded. So I believe that there has been more progress in the field of brain function rejuvenation.

This kind of stuff is all actually coming under the roof of a concept called Transhumanism [h+] - The benefits of which, we will start to see by 2028 at the earliest. Or by 2032 at the most...

Basically AI (artificial intelligence) is the game changer which all such researchers had been waiting for, as unlike humans, AI doesn't get tired, but continues to work at unbelievable speeds. So the pace of progress, is soon going to skyrocket.
