I've been picking from the garden today, trying to beat the rain. If we get the 1/2-1 1/2 inches predicted, it will be too muddy to do much for the rest of the week. This is what I've picked, except for the garlic which was harvested in June (but I put it in the photo as a "brag").

Of course, the eggs didn't come from the garden, and they are two days production from our ladies, but if I had left out the eggs the ladies' feelings would have been hurt, and we all know how sensitive hens are!

I'm just sitting here thinking of the meals I could make with all that wonderful produce. Soups, stir fries, stews, omelets - the list is almost endless. :D

Now that's the true beauty of a home grown kitchen garden - Best of all, NO pesticides! :)

Looks like most of the ingredients for your yumming sounding fritatta. Nice looking produce!

.....and MG, bragging rights you most certainly have! That looks like a very successful day's work there.

Thanks, y'all. We enjoy our gardens' produce and the hens' contributions, also.
S-H, we don't use pesticides, mainly because we keep honeybees. We also use natural (products of the local cows) fertilizers, as well as loads of compost, with the additions from the chicken coop.
Gardening wouldn't be as much fun if there wasn't a friendly, helpful gardening forum to share successes, questions, problems and failures with fellow gardening friends.

Wowser, did that make my mouth water. Especially those little heirloom cherry tomatoes... I'm going to check out your GS pics. I'd like to see how your garden grows.

Daisy, the cherry tomatoes are "Sungold" and if you don't pick up every one that falls on the ground, you've just planted next year's crop! I kept two this year and dug and passed around the other volunteer starts.

Well, TEXAS!! No wonder. We are in Central Oregon and are looking at all the dead "stuff" in the gardens. Tomatoes are all eaten or in the freezer. Green Beans eaten. Beets were wonderful. Can hardly wait until next year!!! We already had our first snow. Tonight is going to be cold. ENJOY!!

What a lovely sight! I'm drooling, even though I'm quite full since I've just wolfed down a lot of hubby's lovely pumpkin soup. :D I missed our hens when I saw your eggs.
