In December we had 6 nights with temps below 32F. Not enough to kill off everything for the season but enough to do put them in a deep coma. Many of the perrenials still have green growth at ground level.
As of January 15, 2008 the Geranium out front still has life even tho most of it looks completely dead. I was out front tidying up a bit yesterday and screwing up the courage to finally do that curb shopping for the chair and wheel barrow and found this little pretty tucked down in the geranium.

How nice to find Toni! I'm always amazed at the hardiness of Geraniums.

Mine didn't survive the night we had -12 degrees, with hoar frost. :'( :'( However, they are very cheap to buy here so I'll soon be getting lots more before long!!! :D So pleased to see that your one is doing well Toni. :stew2:

That's the spirit! Braving the low temperatures to brighten your day. Well done Geranium.

Geraniums are so pretty. I'm glad yours survived, though I know you're in Texas. I brought all 5-6 of my plants inside to survive the winter cold. I have also tried cuttings for new geranium plants and have only been successful with 1 so far.

It knew you would need a pick me up
this time of year so it hid from the freeze so it could bloom just for you
