My daughter and I planted zinnia seeds - pink flowers, of course (her favorite color) in these little peat pots on Friday. We noticed, they're germinating today. My daughter is so excited to be growing her very own flowers!

She has dug holes for me and assisted in setting the roots down into the holes in the past. Trouble is, she gets bored withit pretty quickly - and she normally loves playing in dirt!

Hehe, well, playing and working in the dirt are two different things. :D Congratulations on the germination, well done.

Enjoy the gardening partner whether playing or working. I know I would. And congratulations on the germination - the promise of lovely flowers to come.

Never too young to start getting those fingers green. It must be very satisfying for her to see her work starting to germinate. I remember the first time I saw that, magic!

Oh to be young and experiencing life through those young eyes. I am tempted to try to turn back time but thanks to posts like yours, I get to continue to be young at heart if not age. I am thrilled for your daughter and her obvious green thumb. WAY TO GO!

I'm glad your daughter likes flowers too WTxDaddy. Only 1 of my 3 kids likes to help in the gardens.
That is a lot of Zinnia's...will she have her own garden?

My daughter will not have her own garden, inasmuch as her own spot, or spots in a flower bed, in which to grow her very own pink zinnias. She likes the flowers, but in the past has complained that I spend too much time working in the yard & not playing with her. I only hear these complaints, when she has no playmates over. When there are other kids over, I work circles around the playing kids, only occasionally being asked to retrieve this, or fix that. I plan on assigning chores to her, as she grows up. I've told her, she's going to be mowing the lawn some day and she recoils at the suggestion now.

:D I'm often amazed at how much energy those children have when it comes to running, playing ball, bicycling, rope skipping and such, and how quickly they claim exhaustion when asked to rake leaves or push the wheel barrow.

Had to laugh at that one Droopy. Been there and been through that. How fast kids can scatter when there's work to be done.
