Get them when they're young.

    I was putting a bit of food in a log when three nuthatch youngsters arrived on the deck. One started to eat off my knife. Always have a camera with me.

    I think the birds have figured out that they can trust you totally. The young nuthatch looks likes he is posing for you, kind of like 'This is my best side'.

    You are the bird whisperer Kildale. You can even get close to a bird with a knife in hand :) Great shot!

    The birds in your garden obviously don't see you as a threat Kildale. It's good to see the youngsters following in their parents footsteps as now they'll never have to go hungry.:)

    I was putting the food out for the downies and a nuthatch came for some so he got his photo taken.

    Kildale that must have been such a fun and unexpected treat for both of you. The young birds are always so fun to watch. Great photo shot.

    Animals and all critters are a good judge of character...you surely have passed their test and are trustworthy...:)
