Well... I've been putting it off, but I finally gave in and got most of the plants put away for winter (if it ever gets here!).
I just couldn't bear to put all of them in the "winter tent" just yet because they are still blooming.
    Here's what left out...
    The Pride of Barbados

    And the White Butterfly Ginger.

Awww. They're such lovely blooms. :D I'd hate to hide them too.

It's always difficult to put plants away for winter but at least you know they'll survive now if you have any really cold weather. I've put all my tender plants into the greenhouse but I miss seeing them in the garden.

I can see why you didn't want to 'hide' them. The first one is gorgeous.

I wouldn't want to hide those away either. I haven't moved much inside yet. Some I will just over winter on the front porch where they will get sun. I can always haul them inside if it gets too cold. dooley

I like your White Butterfly ginger plant. 50 degr. weather is what we been having here. Now if winter was going to be like this, just maybe I could live with it. :)

They are both lovely. What kind of plant is Pride of Barbados? Are the fern-y leaves part of the plant?

These two ´hangers-on´ are so showy...who could put them away whilst still in their glory.

It's in the same family as a Mimosa... the "pea" family.
And yes... those are it's leaves.

Well... it got down to the low 40s uppper 30s last night... and same predicted for tonight...
So I broke down and put the rest of the plants in the "tent". I should be able to take out a couple by the end of the week... especially if they're still blooming.

Thank you for reminding me to look at PlantStew (duh!?)! Gee, that is a pretty plant. Here, mimosa is kind of invasive -- in your experience, does it drop leaves and plantlets like the mimosa tree does?

I just started this plant in the Spring from seed. These were some of it's first blooms.
So... I don't have a clue about it's growing habits... yet.
    Can anybody else answer this?
