Got the chimney cleaned out this morning, so the wood burning stove is ready. Have 4 cords of wood on hand and have ordered another 2 cords. Will need to split that and stack it. The Farmers Almanac says a little colder than normal and a little wetter than normal, but not by very much.

I am still cleaning out the flower beds and veggie garden for the fall, and transplanting things that I want to move.

I do have wood on hand, and expect to get more.

I need to get a roll or two of sheet plastic. One for the well house, as it needs replaced and I need to keep the cold air out/warm air in. I ought to put some around the north part of the new chicken pen my DS built for me last month. I guess my chickens were hiding under the cage. He is not yet finished with it, but that is what he has done so far.

And I still need to clean out my chimney and mulch some plants yet. I did bring in my porch plants last week.

I have been using my EdenPure heater for the past week to keep the chill away in the mornings.

My winter preparations usually just amount to digging out the jeans, long-sleeve shirts and sock & shoes ;)

It's finally starting to feel like Fall here, but it's not uncommon to snow in mid to late October. Started cleaning out the gardens, but my tomatoes and some of the flowers are still going strong. Looking forward to some cooler weather, and I don't mind a little snow.

Captain we have couple endopure heaters also. Cleaned the filter and turned one on other cold am.While roofing -cleaned chimney. Got to get a hold of window company. To come and adjust them-newer ones don't lock right-so not air tight.

I always admire your chicken house and their yard. I wish to create something like that for my chickens soon but my space is a problem.

Oh my, what a very nice gift. I guess 42 years is very special to warrant such a nice gift. Happy anniversary and give that son a big kiss.

Got the water barrels emptied, cleaned out and put away for the winter. Got all but one of the garden hoses drained and put away too. Also started up the snow blower and made sure it worked ok. I did that last year and didn't even have to use it. Hopefully my luck will hold out for this year too! :)
