I have lots of hobby crafts I like to do, which suits me fine. When I'm tired of knitting, I do decoupage, make holiday decorations, paint or make jewellery.

When I knit I often have to make two in different sizes, like this one:

    Some samples from the decoupage-heap:

I know how to crochet, but haven't done so for a long time:

I don't know what this is called in English. Basically I tie slip-knots on a thread. It takes forever to make something useful:

And this is what winter will be about:

If anyone has links to sites with nice home-made jewellery, I would appreciate your sharing.

I believe the thing you don't know in English might be 'tatting'. Its a type of lace making.

Tatting - I like the sound of that word. I can make lace with this technique, but have not done so. I have made a very small table cloth, for decorating purposes, and lots of design tests, just to get the hang of it. It's an old technique. Not many people know how these days.

Gosh I thought I had a lot of crafting materials Droopy but you can beat me hands down. I'm beginning to make Christmas cards for folks as the nights are drawing in now and it gives me something to do. Love your knitting but I haven't the patience, or the talent, to do anything quite so ambitious I'm afraid.

I used to Tat, but then I don't think there are very many crafty things that I haven't at least tried over the years. My grandmother did a lot and taught me 40 years ago.

You have a lot of lovely beads for winter work, they should make some beautiful jewelry.

The sweater design is fabulous, is it your own? I haven't done knitting that involved in almost 30 years, then it was a large afghan. Guess I need to take a picture of it before we wear it out and there is nothing left but fuzz.

Your work is very beautiful, I love the tatting. I hope you will post some of your finished jewelry.

I was taught 'tatting' a long time ago (25yrs) in high school by an 'artist in residence' at our school. (She also taught us to quilt, and to weave) I made a very small pin, and then preserved it to make it stiff. I still have it. Maybe you could make something small out of your piece like a pin or something to hang from a necklace, and then you could use it? It does seem to take forever to make something of a useful size.
You are a very crafty lady!

Thank you all for commenting and encouraging. :-D

I'm not sure... Turn-out weekend, maybe? The sign is hung on the box of whoevers turn it is to let the horses out in the morning during week-ends. Week days or stable host does it.

:D Well... I like to try new things, and I tend to keep at it on an on-and-off basis. We need a bigger house.

No, I'm not that good. Most Norwegian yarn factories also design patterns, and release new ones at least twice a year. When I knit sweaters for the girls I always have to make two.

Thank you, Cajunbelle, I'll post pictures if I make something that's wearable.

That sounds like a good idea, Chitweed! Thank you.
