    I can never get them to sit still long enough to photograph..this is a nice photo.

    I believe it's a Eastern Tiger Swallowtail and with all the blue at the tail I'd say it's a female.

    Yep, that does look like an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Papilio glaucus, female.

    Big coincidence, Just today I took some pictures of the same kind of butterfly. I have never seen one before today.

    What a lovely photograph. The butterfly must have known you had your camera with you and decided to pose in the best spot to get its piccie taken!!
