A few days ago I was bored and checked out CraigsList.
A local fellow had 2 or 3 listings of "homemade garden junk" I called him, got the address and went to see what he had. He kept apologizing that so much had already sold! He had no idea it would go so fast :D

Eventually I will plant in the plant stand. Right now I just have the geraniums sitting in there. I just love it!

I have been wanting an old stock tank for a very, very long time. He had this tossed off to the side of his driveway. Told me he picked it up to plant tomatoes in it but never got around to it. I think it may become my new iris bed.

He had a collection of wheelbarrows like you've never seen :-o I chose this one because the handles were metal and the tire is solid rubber. It is older than the one we use now but built much better, plus it has character!

    I had a wonderful day :p

Your trip was certainly more than worth while. I love the plant stand and wheelbarrow but my favourite has to be the old stock tank. I'm already anticipating what it will look like filled with your iris.

Is that plant stand an old bbq grill? And you're right... that wheel barrow has lots of character.
Any idea of what you'll be putting in it? And oh my... look at that stock tank! I can envision all sorts of things planted in there.
I took some time this morning to look at Craigs List just to see what's there. And quickly gave up... most of the stuff is in Houston or even further away. Guess I'll just need to get in the routine of looking at the resale stores or yard sales.
But... I'm happy that you were able to find such good stuff!

Yes, that little thing is part of an old bbq :-D I can hear my sister now "Tacky Tacky Tacky" I don't care, I love it! Don't know if I should paint it all black or leave it alone, any suggestions?? :p
I also bought an OLD wooden ladder from him and a cream can that I will stick a geranium in :-D He had the cutest little old red stool too...I might call him tomorrow and if he still has it....well, you know :D Thinking I'm going to have to put the tank on a few old railroad ties to lift it a little

Stratsmom, no one deserved such wonderful finds more than you (unless it were, ahem, me!).
Leave the BBQ grill alone--it has character and you don't need to paint it. I love the wheelbarrow--if I ever find one it will go in the front flowerbed so I can show off! And the stock tank with iris in it--marvelous!
An old wooden ladder--made to order for a trellis or a stand for small container plants.
We want pictures when everything is in place!

I will post pics as soon as my yard is put together :-? We have had only 2 days of spring so there is a lot left to do. My husband put in the walkway last summer for my birthday and I love it!!! It was done with 2 molds and cement. I wanted a brick walkway but a guy at work told me about this one and it was much cheaper and faster!

Lukey our Craig's List has several areas. I bet if you looked again you could find antiques or appliances or plants
