We went to a campground for Dan's wedding. It isn't a well used campground because it's a bit hard to get to. Dan and his group of friends go there often. When they wanted an outside wedding they chose this place. It's down in a small canyon with a stream through it. When it rains some times it floods. The hundred year floods as they are called can flood the whole canyon. When the canyon floods the dirt washes out the tree roots. The tree compensates by growing bark on the roots. So, look at the size of these roots and how high they are out of the ground and make a guess how old these trees might be.
We decided they would make good gnome homes.

These are six of them and they are all up and down the stream. The trees are very tall. It's a beautiful place. In the next picture you can see how the root grows along the ground to catch the dirt that is washing down to the stream.

I would love to walk around these and look. These kind of trees are awsome. I like to listen to the sounds of the creek and birds also. To be out in the woods, one with nature, how much better can it get.

I love the trees and there roots how unusual they are.It really would be nice to have a huge tent and a bed like they have and stay for a while.

Maybe she was so busy getting to know those grand kids she forgot to look for the head gnomes house.
