We are going to a primitives and antique show in Hico (pronounced high-co), Texas tomorrow then on Saturday doing a couple of trips up and down the Spring version of the 37 mile long flea market we went to back in Sept.
I could have had a small cupola last Sept if Randy had just turned his back for a few minutes and I had 3-5 strong guys to get it in the back of the pickup for me and maybe if we had a bigger pickup truck ;)

Not really looking for anything in particular, I mean I already have two 'junque girl' dream pieces...a tractor hood and pickup tail gate. But I would like to find a wishing well made out of logs or barnwood. My ultimate dream find would be an outhouse....not with the interior amenities (ick) but the building. Just a one seater will do, really don't have room for a double. ;)

When I was in 2nd and 3rd grade the school I attended had two outhouses...boys and girls..and each was a 5 seater. We didn't live out in the country but on the outer eastern edge of Dallas all the modern conveniences had not reached our little 4 room school in the early 1950's.
And when I lived in Evergreen, Colorado in the early 1970's (my almost hippy period of life) we lived in a small 3 room cabin in the mountains that had what my oldest daughter who was about 4 at the time, called a wooden potty. At the time she thought it was fun but now, not so much. ;)
I think I have a 'thing' for outhouses.

I am hoping the 'Iris' man is back. The bulbs I bought from him last year are all growing huge, three have bloomed and there are buds forming on the others.

We will be back Saturday evening, hopefully with some goodies to share photos of.

Toni, I am afraid I share your fascination for small outbuildings (hum, outhouses). If you find an extra one ship it up to WA. Have been wanting something nice, small and fancy for garden junk storage. Can't wait to see what other goodies you find :-D

Hey toni, I'm still new enough to this forum that I haven't figured out how to navigate everything yet. Is there some place you can direct me to that shows pictures of your glorious junque in use in your garden?

Ronni... since Toni is probably out junking already, I'll guide you to her "garden". Look at her latest post. See her name right above her avatar? Click on her name and it will take you to her profile page. There's a link towards the top "Garden". Click on that and it'll take you to her photos. You can also see alot of her neat stuff in the "Junk" forum in "Hobbies/Crafts".
Be prepared to spend a lot of time browsing through it all.

Toni... You could use old barn wood to make a 'new' outhouse. I am sure your DH or you even, could cut a quarter moon opening in the door you make for it. I bet you could find some really cool old hinges at any flea martket to use on it. You could even put a seat in it, with an opening and all... and no old mess in there!

We had an old outhouse here back in 87 when we moved in here. Unfortunately, the pit area was filled with trash, and it was falling down at a dangerous angle. I had my boys tear it down, and told them they could have the wood to build a tree house for themselves. They had a cool tree house too. And then the power company came along and thought they had to put a line in for a neighbor, and they took the tree with the tree house in it down. :(

I would love to get another old outhouse for outback in emergencies... ;) [company, power outages, etc]

Can't wait to see your pictures.

We got back home about an hour ago. I did find a load of small things...but interesting garden decorating things. No outhouse but I did find a two hole seat from an outhouse for sale at one place. It was about $50 so it's still leaning on the wall at the junque shop.

Ronni, go to the Garden Junk forum..... HERE take a look at all of my posts, there will be some photos of junque just brought home and some situated in the garden. I sill have many things to get ready to put out and then there is the problem of finding the right place for them all. ;)

I will get photos taken of the newest haul tomorrow or Monday and get them posted.
