WooHoo! Soon as I get enough feedback from friends and family, I'm going to book my adventure for mid April!

I imagine most of you have heard of zip lining. But how about aerial trekking?

Zip lining.....You sail through the treetops as you zip from ridge top to ridge top harnessed to a line that is strung through the canopy of trees.

Aerial trekking is a bit different....imagine going on a hike, but suspended in the trees to do it. You walk, climb and swing across a series of cables, ropes and logs that take you progressively higher into the treetops.

    More information here: http://www.adventureworks.com/adventurepark-nashville-west/index.html#reservations

A couple of my kids and one of their girlfriends want to go, and then I have a bunch of dance friends who are also jazzed about doing this, so it will be a fairly large group!

    I am so excited!! :smt026:smt041:sete_056:

Y'know toni, I'm not a huge fan of heights myself. But I'm biting the bullet for this, because I am just so enamored of the idea. Cross your fingers for me that I don't chicken out at the last minute!!

I don't chicken out at the last minute!! Ronni, chickens can fly--they don't have to climb trees, clamber over limbs and logs, and generally imperil their lives!;);)
Just kidding--I admire your spunk, and please have someone take photos of "Tarzan Ronni"!

Gosh Ronni I'm in awe of you for even considering doing that let alone going for it!! I hope there'll be a chance for you to take photographs as it's going to be the experience of a lifetime. Enjoy it to the full. You're a braver woman than I am that's for sure.

That's not something I would want to try (I'm petrified  of heights over 4 feet) but I will say that I admire your bravery. I would love to see many pictures of your adventure though. :like:

Ronni, judging from the enthusiastic replies, and requests for photos, it would seem "chickening out" is no longer an option!:)

Damn! Yup, there's no backing out now!!! ;)

Not that I would.....I've wanted to do this for a long time. Well, the zip lining anyway, I only recently discovered that aerial trekking is A Thing, but now that I have, I'm really jazzed. I love to hike tougher trails that aren't just a straight even path, so the idea of doing that but suspended in trees has a particular appeal!

And also, can't remember if I mentioned this or not, I'm going whitewater rafting beginning in June...another adventure!!!! Not heavy duty stuff, Class I and II rapids mainly, with some sections of Class III from what I can gather. More excitement! More adventure! :smt041

Wow Ronni sound like the kind of adventure I would love. When I was a kid I would climb up in trees and get as high as I could because I loved the view and the swaying of the tree branch's when the wind blew. It was like being in natures rocking chair. I would close my eyes and just enjoy the feeling.
But then I am the kind of gal that liked going on the kinds of rides that spun you, turned you, and tipped you upside down. Like the standup roller coaster I went on at a Great Flags amusement park, or the Batman roller coaster. Weeeeeeeeeeeeee.
