We are breaking from tradition this year. Four years ago Randy and I took our youngest daughter to Edom, Texas to pick blueberries. The next year youngest daughter decided that blueberry picking should be a once in a lifetime experience and declined our invitation to go again. So we asked our oldest daughter to join us for the day and being the mother of two young boys and having just completed another year of teaching 6th and 7th grade students she jumped wholeheated at the chance to spend an entire day with other adults even if we are her parents. We had planned to go again this year because it truely is a tradition we really enjoy but the trouble is, all of the blueberries we picked last year are still in my freezer. So this year we are doing something different. We will be picking Lisa up at 7 am tomorrow, going to breakfast then heading out to some really cool antique/junque stores on the highway between Dallas and Forney. One we went thru last year had some of the coolest possible garden junque I have ever seen. After wandering thru as many of those places as we can we will have lunch and head to Royse City to visit Purple Ranch Lavender Farm, hopefully will get to meet Purple Ranch Hand and sit under his new pergola to enjoy the lavender fragrance from the fields. He said he would ask his mom to make us some Lavender Lemonade and Lavender Sugar Cookies. :-D I will be taking pictures, might even be one with me in it too but don't hold your breath.... but they won't be posted until probably Monday since we won't be home on Sunday either.
Give our regards to Purple Ranch Hand if you see him Toni. I would love to see the Lavender farm for myself so I'm a litle jealous of you going there. I hope you take lots and lots of piccies for us. I wonder what great garden junque you'll find in those stores? Enjoy your week-end.
Sounds like an awesome weekend!! Say "hi" to our fellow "stewbie" if you see him. I noticed he hasn't visited much with us lately :-? I miss the photos, he takes gorgeous pictures. He is probably very busy on the ranch. I bet tourist season has them scrambling! Enjoy your trip! Deanna :-D
Me too, Joann. Texas is a long way away. But I do hope you'll enjoy yourself immensely Toni, and please remember to photograph everything. That includes cakes, lemonade and the devouring of them. I hope you get to meet PRH, hope he's not too busy.
