Golden crowned sparrow.

    Must be a juvenile or the breeding colours are just coming in as it should be black not brown. Haven't taken much yet this year as we have had a lot of rain.

    I think your first thought was right Kildale. It appears to be a youngster. Lovely to see both the juvenile and the adult male together in your post. :-D

    Such cute birds and so many different kinds of them. I noticed a new one for me that I have to look up. Great pictures .

    KIldale the first picture looks like our chipping sparrows. Like the colors of the adult in the second picture. I wish we where only having rain instead of -20 below zero. :eek:
