I always detest these "introduce yourself" forums in new groups I join. I never know what to say. I should type one up and save as a file then just copy/paste into every group I join. So that out of the way - what can I say about myself. I retired from the Army in 1990 after 22yrs, I then went on to work for another 23yrs at another job and retired from that in 2013. I have two greenhouses in my backyard. One I use for my orchids and my seed starting the other I use to overwinter most all of my plants and other times it acts as a storage area. Some of the plants I grow are Phalaenopsis orchids, I bought 23 of these from a local Walmart last June as they were Mothers Day leftovers, I still have 15 left. I also grow Brugmansia, Geraniums, Hibiscus and many more. So, that's about all I can think of to say

Hi there Chris and this time a warm welcome from Scotland. I have to admit that I'm not good at keeping orchids alive so could do with a few tips from you. I look forward to seeing your photographs.
Thanks Eileen, I've found that the right water type, I've got a table-top reverse osmosis system and the right food, I use MSU which helps a lot. I'd be more than glad to answer any questions you have Eileen if I can.
