Hello everyone, it's good to see some old friends and some new names since I have visited GS. It has been a sad time for our family as my darling husband Don passed away in December so as you can imagine there has been a lot of sorting out to do. On a lighter side, I have found out that I am to be a Great Grandma in May so that is something to look forward to. Also with the weather improving I am able to get out in my garden again which is very therapeutic for me.
Look forward to participating in GS again and reading all your messages.

Condolences to you...and for your family. Loosing a loved one is so hard but you will find strength in your new Great Grandchild. Gardening always makes me happy ...even pulling those weeds makes me forget about everything else going on.....I hope you find the same peace in all you do.(((HUGS))) to you...

Please accept my sincere sympathy on the loss of your husband. We missed you, and are so glad you are back.
Is the new grandbaby a girl or boy, or do you know yet? So many soon-to-be parents here in the states want to know the sex so they can paint the nursery pink or blue, get little dresses or football uniforms, and generally celebrate the new baby!

It's lovely to have you back with us here at The Stew - things just haven't been the same without you.

Thank you so much for your kind messages. The baby is a little girl Marlin, my grandson and his partner (soon to be his wife) have been supplying me with up to date scans which are amazingly clear. Will post a photo of her when she arrives.
I have been browsing through the latest 'post a picture of yourself' thread to see all the new arrivals on Stew and came across the photo of Don and myself on our Golden Wedding anniversary, brought a tear to my eye. We had hoped to make our Diamond wedding in three years time but it wasn't to be.

Yes, please post pictures of your great granddaughter--I'd be willing to bet she will be beautiful! (Good genes, y'know).

Hello GG.What terrible news. I do wish you condolences. I just do not know what to say. I do not want to be awkward, but I do want you to know that I do feel empathy for you and wish that I could offer some sort of comfort. Suffice to say that I hope that you will not have too difficult a time. Your friends on her wish you comfort. I am delighted to see you back.
