Whew, I suspected that the Stew would get busy once planting season began, but by golly, I can't keep up with you chatty people! (I blame a combination of a teenager online and a super-slow connection!) So I'm just chillin' here. Literally. Though the bunny bottles weren't frozen this morning, yay! I set aside a flyer from last Sundays paper, advertising blueberry bushes. Thought I'd get a couple to put in pots on the porch. But when I went to costco, they had bundles of 2 blueberries for 10 bucks- no shipping charge! So I'm thinking I'll find a reasonably suitable spot for them, dig it all out , line the hole with something, backfill with peat and soil, and see how they do. I need some soil so I can get my Christmas tree planted anyway, it's been acclimating in it's new home (still in the pot, though). It was so sad to read the posts by Raggaefan! It just tears my heart out the way some people just seem to have forgotten they even HAVE a conscience!!!!! I'm gonna go hide in my little world of happy trees! (ok, no, I Don't paint Bob Ross style, but ya gotta admire his attitude!)
It certainly has been a busy place today, 9 new blog entries and 162 new posts since I went to bed last night. Looks like everyone decided that if they can't work in the yard yet they will spend their day here :-D
With a -15 wind chill, I won't be working in the yard for a while! But they are saying on 13 Feb. a high of 43 with a chance of a shower! Heat Wave !!!!!!!!!
((((raggae))))) Kirk, you make me feel so much better, lol! The temp here got up to nearly 50 today. Trouble with that is, all the ice and snow that were tracked into the garage are melted, and I can tell already that the things I have stored for my upcoming garage sale will mildew if I don't move on them fast. Ack! Funny, I was just debating with myself whether I could pop for odering some watercolors, and it clicked that the place I like to order from is in New Orleans, ! What a state, great gardeners and awesome art supplies.
