A couple of weeks ago I got T-boned by a 72 year old woman with no insurance. I'll not get any recompense from her as she has nothing and is broke. So, we stripped our emergency cash and readily available savings to buy another vehicle. Self congratulatory I was. Hah! I got this. Then yesterday we got the property tax bill! Holy Crap! I had forgotten about that coming due. Well by the time taxes are due, I'll have that covered too. But wait, there's more! Come April 15, I'll owe the IRS some $500 or so. An old fat hillbilly just can't catch a break. I'll have that covered too. Thank goodness I have a job that lets me make up for these fiduciary hurdles. Just don't like having to worry in the least about these things.

    Ah man!!

I've jumped those same hurdles many times in my life FBG, and it never gets easier, and it's never any fun.

At least, as you said, your job allows the kind of wiggle room you need right now. Thankful for small mercies, eh?

All I can say is thank goodness for your job FBG!! I really feel for you though with all that money going out. Hopefully, after April, things will settle down and you can begin to mount up some savings again. What a pity you're not going to get any recompense from the uninsured driver. :(

Oh, I'm so sorry:smt022. Sometimes bad things happen to really good people, and this is one of those times.

Having too much month left at the end of my money is something I really don't like. I'm so glad you've got your job and will manage.

Oh that stinks FBG! I know how that is all too well ... it just seems there is always SOMETHING to suck up any savings a person might have.

Your problems didn't just rain on you..they poured! I'm glad to hear you'll manage it all and, hopefully be able to build up your nest egg again soon.

We have learned the hard way that even mentioning the word 'savings' you must either write it down or learn sign language otherwise every electrical appliance or vehicle will hear and find some way to make sure they get it first.
