I just received a call from my mother-in-law telling me my brother-in-law in Afghanistan has been hurt and is being air lifted to Germany for medical attention. Evidently a land mine exploded on his left side, the man beside him didn't make it. He has lost the vision in his left eye. I'm not sure about the shrapnel that hit his face and the left side of his body. She was kind of hard to understand. He was able to talk to his wife this morning so at least we know he is alive, Thank God.

Oh, Deanna, my thoughts are with your family. May his injuries heal quickly and completely with very few after effects.

Sorry to hear this Deanna. Hoping for the best for your brother-in-law. I'd imagine he's also quite upset for the man whose life was lost.

That really is bad news, Deanna. We'll pray for you and your inlaws. It's such a tragedy that things like this have to go on. :(

Let's pray that mankind outgrows it's need for war, and we can live in peace.

    Thank You everyone!
I still don't know a whole lot. I'm hoping to learn more today. Thankfully it sounds like his injuries are not life threatening. Hopefully the German hospital can restore the sight in his left eye. I just want him to come home and I want this war to be over.
Thank you again for all the kind thoughts and prayers.
    Deanna and family
    :-D
