Here's a few things I got planted so far. Still waiting to get the building moved in so I can't place everything where I want it yet. Some kind of cactus ( photo / image / picture from okietriker's Garden ) Old grill I picked up for $5 with Impatients ( photo / image / picture from okietriker's Garden ) Moss Rose in the tank, nothing yet in the bowl ( photo / image / picture from okietriker's Garden )
I love your 'planters' especially the grill!! We gardeners have great imagination when it comes to places to display our flowers don't we?
OH! My Gosh, You need laces in those shoes. They only need to be laced half way up. You know what I would put in the toilet bowl???? Something very picky, like a barrel cactus. Very cute......Barb in Pa.
Very creative Okie. Nice to recycle things. I love to see all the neat things people use as planters. Thanks for sharing.
Okie... The plant in your boots remind me of my Kalanchoe Marmorata. And I can't remember how many of those grills I've tossed out of the years. Now I wish I had one. And as far as a plant for your toilet... I can't remember who made a suggestion earlier for someone else... maybe it was Jane? But they suggested PEEtunias!
How cool! Cactus in the toilet... YES! The plant in the boots is actually a Sedum... I think! (maybe Sedum spectabile)... it grows upright. Maybe you could also plant some Sedum that is crawling down the boots?
I got some more flowers planted today. The rose bush, Gingersnap Rose (tree) we planted a couple days ago and the bloom is from today. Those tires look awesome! And so does everything else... but I'm just in love with your brightly colored tires.
There really is no limit, as to what our imagination can create (if we let it go loose). Sometimes, the most interesting works of art are actually created this way! "Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand." - Albert Einstein.
Here we go off topic again. There probably needs to be a separate forum covering 'Gardening and Philosophy'. I am of the opinion that gardeners are heavy duty 'imagination' artists. With agriculture (gardening), the greatest form of art there is. "Held our dreams in our hands, let our minds run away..."
Thanks everyone! I'm having fun with the "Flower Thing". I did forget to add this one, so here she is. When we moved her she got a little bow legged! ( photo / image / picture from okietriker's Garden )
A couple pics of the front of the house now in bloom. ( photo / image / picture from okietriker's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from okietriker's Garden ) My Gingersnap Roses ( photo / image / picture from okietriker's Garden )
