I put an ad on craigslist that I had two Italian designer handbags that I was willing to trade for one Rosy Bourkes Parakeet. A lady called me & said she had three of then & she didn't want the handbags; I could just have the birds! I noticed that she loved to garden, so next week i'm going to take her some nice things for her garden, as the Rosy Bourkes keets are pretty costly ($100.00 to $300.00 each). They are so beautiful! Just a vibrant rosy pink. Very healthy, friendly but not hand-tamed. Now I just have to come up with names for them.... I think one will be "Rouge", one will be "Blush" and I still don't have a third name yet.

You sure are getting good things lately... and for free. I've always been shy to use Craig's list since I hear all the horror stories. One day, I may just have to check it out.

How about "Rosie"? Kinda stays in the "pink" theme :D We used Craigslist to sell our pickup and it was great! Our little town has a similar web site thing called "Want Ads.com" and I've gotten some awesome deals off of that. I've also gotten rid of a lot of plants and met some really neat folks. But, then there's that Nice Gardener Type People thing again :p I'd like to see photos of the birds!

Cherylad, you just have to be smart when you buy, sell or trade on craigslist. I've been doing it for years never had a bad experience (knock on wood) & you would NOT believe the free & near-free things i've gotten. Believe it or not, I got an entire kitchen's worth of cabinets & countertops (which I sorely needed. Mine are original to the house; 1953 & just falling apart) from a model home for free! Model home had sold & contractor was doing an upgrade for the new owners. Not only were they free; the contractor & helpers even loaded it into my pick-up for me! My rules for buying, selling, trading & picking up free stuff: Unless the item is too big, I ALWAYS meet person in a public place, in the daytime. If item is too big I take hubby to pick it up or make sure hubby's home when they come to my home. If I can, I try to have the item on my sunporch instead of main part of house & I lock house doors & hide the keys while people are here. As soon as son makes time to re-fresh my memory on how to post pics. I will definitely be posting some.

Luvs,You are lucky to have gotten those birds.I sold daylilies on Craig's List last summer.I had excellent luck & have made some friends in the deal.I know I was warned too & heard some horror stories.
I asked for some rabbit poo on there & got several buckets full, free.

It's official, waretrop.... your suggestion wins! "C"heeks it is! So one little boy is "Blush", one is "Cheeks" and the girlie-bird is "Rouge".

Congrats on your find. I too would love to see some pics, but I can understand the figuring out part. I've not been on the stew in a few years and am just getting back but it's all different. I tried to post some pics this morning but it will have to wait until I too can figure it out. Enjoy your birds and we'll be watching for those pics.
