I hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween night...filled with trick-or-treaters I'm sure. This morning, had to sweep up the candy wrappers all around the porch and yard!

Halloween isn't such a big deal in Norway, but we had some skeletons, witches and assorted others ringing the bell. I had plenty of candy so nobody were disappointed.

Someone told me that trick or treating will continue on through the weekend here in Sweden. So it's not over yet :)

    We had a terrific time!
We decorated the courtyard and had lots of trick-or-treaters stop by.

In fact, I just blogged about it, with pictures. :D

We live in very remote area, and the driveways are all several hundred feet long, and the they are quite a way apart. I think that if one would walk the equivalent of a city block you may pass 2 or 3 driveways. There are no street lights, and the nights get very dark. (perfect for Halloween, you might think) I suppose that the effort/reward ratio is so poor here that the trick or treating just isn't worth it. Although we had treats the first 2 years here, no one came, and we wound up eating the treats our selves. Since then we just don't buy treats anymore. I sort of miss the little kids coming to the door, we still have Halloween decorating out front, but no one sees it but us. For the adults, someone has a costume dinner party, but for the kids, well, there just aren't any in the neighborhood, Only the summer residents and visitors, have kids. Just we old folks live here year round. That's sad. Some year we need to get together and have all the Grand kids come up for Halloween, and have a giant trick or treat party for everyone.

I only had 5 trick-or-treaters :( I love to see the LITTLE kids in costumes, some of the big kids scare me.
I don't think the house to house thing is as popular as it used to be since there are so many wierdos out there. The churches, schools, community groups all have special events for the kids. That way it is safe and supervised.

Our town has the greatest folks. We have all the stores giving out candy on the square and at the little shopping center all of the businesses
makes in wonderful for the little costumers. Each store has someone posted at their front door with big pans of candy and little gifts. Its neat.I forgot to take my camera :( and it was a sight to see I'm so sorry I missed taking pictures for ya'll.One store ran out after giving out 750 little bags and put a sign out out of candy and went home.Another one had gone and bought more candy 3 times around $60.00.I never saw the downtown with so many little ones all dresses in different costumes.Great
