You can use the fruit for making soup. When the fruit turn brown (old), you can use it as a container of water or wine.
However, I don't know its English name, help me please.

Well, now I want to grow gourds too. Do they require an elaborate structure to grow on?

Bam, what is it there that looks like a plastic bag full of water hanging nearby.

Also called Squash. We grow various types, sadly here they need to be in a big polytunnel to be really successful, but in warmer places they are dead easy to grow.

I think they are sometimes known as bottle gourds. I love growing them on my allotment.

    Thank you all.
I think "gourds" or "bottle gourds" is the right name, "squash" is a another plant. Although we have a proverb which mean gourds and squash often have the same frame then they should love each other :)

To dooley: It's not the soup for starter. I just can't find out the word (sorry). We boil some ried shrimp or meat or beef, add spices. When they come to the boil, add slice-gourds. Use this soup with hot rice :)

To daisybeans: We often use bamboo frame. And the plastic bag full of water nearby is to drive away insect.

To all: I use the dictionary to look up the words, so whenever you find anything is not right, would you please tell me? Thank you.
