    Hiya Margie.
I am guessing that it is just a question of waiting and hoping that the heat will hold out. Are your toms outside or inside?
There are some folks here whose tom's foliage are only thing that is green...they do not even have fruits yet.
If your toms are outside, you could try and construct a temporary structure and wrap it in with clear plastic...(top and sides), all the way to the ground. This would be to conserve heat, especially at night.
I wonder what your daytime temps are there as well as the night temp.

    Good luck, miss

Margie... everyone is saying the same thing, but I am just now getting them to turn. Just be patient. If your nights are as cold as mine have been you might want to start sprayig a fungicide. The blight will wipe them right out if it gets started and with the nights down in the 50's for the past couple of weeks and the week to come, it wouldn't surprise me to have everyone start saying their plants are dying. I have my onions and garlic sitting in the greenhouse.. and they are getting mildew dots all over them from the cold damp nights.

If your weather has been cool they will not start to ripen early. They need heat Are they the proper size for the variety?

I picked the first ripe one a few minutes ago. My recipe calls for 3 ripe and 3 green tomatoes. The hard part was the red ones. There are a ton of green ones out there.

I will say this again. Our tomato season seems to be on schedule. We don't get ripe ones much earlier than this any other year.

I put in 80 plants in the end and they are now nearing 8 feet tall. We just need a little rain now or I will have to water then.

If you are worried, go get a few wrap then individually in newspaper, put them in a brown paper bag in a dark place. They will be ripe in about 5 days. Then you will know everything is OK and the ones on the vine will ripen later.

Kind of odd that I am usually the last one I know with ripe tomatoes, but this year I am the first. The nights are cool and it's been so dewy that I was afraid they would never ripen, but all of a sudden they did. Patience Margie!

With those temps (perfect for tomatoes) I would say yours are the same as ours,,just late. Mine were much later this year. The weather has been unstable and very unlike Texas so everything was off this year. We got a lot of rain in July and just got another 1 to 2 inches a few minutes ago. We never get rain in August and only a sprinkle if we are lucky in July.
