Hello gardenstew forums! I'm relatively new to gardening all together and I'm very interested in it, I'm 15 years old and currently going to high school. I hope to learn alot through these forums, so thought I'd just say hi and introduce myself!

Hi, welcome to GardenStew from north Texas. It's great to see younger people getting started in gardening, what got you interested in it? Do you have a specific type of garden you want to create....flowers, veggies, herbs?

I'm mostly interested in herb gardening, I have 2 gardens, possibley 3, one large one under my window, and a small pepper garden in the side yard next to the pump house. I'll send some pictures once I get my card reader working.

This is the picture of the garden under my window(It looks orange because I just finished sprinkling cinnamon on it to keep the bugs away cause I had just weeded it the other day). Right now the only thing growing in it are a few aloe vera plants, a gardenia twig, and some canna-lilies.(Err, I uploaded it to my album)

I tried to grow some plants in 8th grade I believe, about 2 years ago, but I neglected the plants and they died, not just that but other complications like someone weed hacking my pepper garden even though the parameters were clearly defined. As I said I had just recently weeded the garden, the day before yesterday infact. I found alot of interesting insects and arachnids in the garden, I'm also interested in entamology, but my parents said I had to weed it. So I decided I'd like to grow herbs again, if you guys have any recommend cheep herbs that are good to grow for begginers(I'm interested in annual plants) that would be great. I'd like to see if there are specific herbs I can grow in the winter because summer is almost over here, and although winters are still relatively warm here in Florida, I'm sure it won't be able to sustain certain plants. I'm happy for all the advice you guys can give me, thanks!
