Hello everyone my name is Robert. I just wanted to introduce myself. I was searching around for a gardening forum and this seemed like a good choice. I recently got into a bit of gardening I would say and I am planning a small garden this year, which should be a 20x20 if all goes well, beans, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, carrots, and some herbs. I mainly came here to learn more and get ideas on growing. My reasons for growing are simple, I need something to get me outside that I enjoy, flowers I enjoy photography, for veggies I love to eat them, bell peppers being my favorite. I grew some last year and had a few problems mainly because the weather went crazy one day. I started them very early indoors, they grew wonderfully and by the time warm weather got around they were about 17" or more tall. So, me and my grandfather set them out and about 1 hour later a random hail storm :-x Only 3 survived with only 1 doing well and producing fruit. Anyway enough talking, see you all around.

Thank you all for the welcomes :-D @ Frank Will do, I will certainly be sharing my future flower photos here and look into sharing some of my older ones from last year. My older photos can be found from the My Website link on my profile, or at http://busted11290.deviantart.com/gallery/ @ eileen I will certainly keep that in mind as I have much to learn and have many questions. @ cherylad I am rather excited and have been talking about it enough to pester everyone. I just hope it turns out better than my ordeal with the peppers last year.
Hi Robert, welcome to GardenStew from north Texas. Getting started is always an exciting time. As long as you don't let Mother Nature get you down...she is in charge so you have to change your plans once in a while.
Robert, hello from a small farm in Central Texas. We've already had a chat about your garden layout, which is very, very good! You'll find that each year Mother Nature takes and gives--last year she took your peppers and this year she'll probably give you more peppers than you can use!
Hi there from another Texan,,I think we have the lone star state pretty much covered here. Just don`t worry too much about your garden, You will learn in time, just have fun with it.
