I took these pictures today,..the contrast between the GREY sky and the WHITE blooms on the Blackthorn Bushes was very noticeable. You are making me homesick Philip. Because of: - Green field - Walking a dog - A rusty gate - A rainy sky All typical sights in the Irish countryside Thanks for posting.
Very dramatic sky -- like Bip, I appreciate dark stormy skies.... The contrast between that grey blue sky and the green of the foliage is pretty inspiring.
You're obviously having the same weather we are Philip. I have to admit that those dark skies really do make the Blackthorn flowers stand out beautifully.
Nice fotos of the slatey skies, Philip---it could be Nederland. Those skies and the lighting make for excellent conditions for taking fotos. Well done!
Hi Jen, we tend to only wish for a blue sky,..and take pictures of a blue sky,..but when you really look at a gray sky you can see the beauty. ----------------------------------------------------- daisybeans PostPosted: Tue May 10, 2011 9:34 am Post subject: Very dramatic sky -- like Bip, I appreciate dark stormy skies.... Hi Eileen, i know you are across the water,..way up north in Bonny Scotland,..and at times we do get the same weather,..though usually its Scottish weather we get blown from your direction,..still no complaints,..it grows the Ferns and the Moss for us thankfully. ----------------------------------------------------- Sjoerd PostPosted: Tue May 10, 2011 9:43 am Post subject: Nice fotos of the slatey skies, Philip---it could be Nederland. Hi Sjoerd, well described "slater skies",..and we did have thunder and lightning some time later,..i was on my way home,..my oldest dog is scared of thunder.
last time I saw that type of sky was in 1977 (when I was barely an year old). It was the Monsoon Season over here (in Late June) - The sky had all of a sudden turned jet black from the west, and the Pakistan Meteorological Department was caught totally without a clue... Anyway, it rained 207 millimetres (8.1 inches) in a matter of 5 hours that day. People here till this day remember that rain!
It's even more beautiful with the gray sky. Everything looks so lush. Lovely photos. The rainbow one is a keeper!
Nice photos Philip, reminded me of my younger days when the neighbourhood was not developed with lots of foilage and a beautiful stream. When the sky gets dark like that it's time to get home! Those good old carefree days. Where are you now Frank?
Hi folks, you all liked the dark sky contrasting the land,..it is VERY green here most of the year,..plenty of rain and mists coming off the lake and river,..so much rain you could almost say Monsoon,..
