I made a new discovery this spring and I thought some of you may be interested. It is a castle just outside of Brussels called the Groot-Bjigaarden. Every spring, for a month, they open the grounds of the castle to the public and it is an incredible display of bulbs and other spring flowers.

I took a lot of photos and decided to make a video slideshow of my photos. You can watch the video here (Be warned that there is music)

Here's a taste of a few pictures... Enjoy!

Very nice show indeed. :D You've got a lilac in there that I'm planning on buying since it's so different from the ones I've got already. Those tulip and calla varieties were so colourful and nice to look at. Wish I could pay that castle a visit some time.

Beautiful flowers, ACMP-- and that bridge and castle? look splendid. In fact that whole setting with water, bridge and building looks very sililar to the Oosterpoort, bridge and canal here in my town. Amazing.

If you want to visit some year, it is open from mid-april to mid-may. I've written more about it here if you're interested. Thanks for your kind comments!

I have to say you really know how to take photos - the slide show is good.

Oh my how I wish that I'd known about Groot-Bijgaarden Castle and Gardens when I was travelling through Belgium a few years ago. How I would have loved to see everything first hand. I did go to the Keukenhof Gardens in Holland though and my breath was taken away by all the beauty surrounding me there.
Thank you so much for you photographs and video as they are next best thing to actually seeing those glorious gardens for myself.

(If you'd like to see the photographs I took at Keukenhof then take a peek at my blog. :stew2:)

Oh Keukenhof is my absolute fav. I've gone for the past 5 years and love it. I'm still editing through this year's Keukenhof photos now but I hope to put a video together of them soon. Going to check out your blog now!

Hey we may have passed each other at Keukenhof. We could even have stood next to each other for all we know. If only I'd known you then because I'm sure we could have had some fun together. :D I'm hoping to be over in Holland for the next Floriada at Venlo in 2012 and may well be back at Keukenhof then too. Maybe we'll meet up!! :D
