I bought a packet of freesia bulbs yesterday. I want to grow them in containers. If I plant them now, will I get blooms this year or is it too late now?
    Thanks.

I don't know but I'd go ahead an plant them. Even if you don't get blooms this season you should next year.

Well Tina, I can only say that every bag of freesia bulbs that I have planted have come up and bloomed that same year. Plant 'em soon indoors, and in early may outdoors.
I sure hope that you will have the same luck. :)

That's great to know. I also got some bulbs and hope they bloom this year. I love the fragrance of Freesia. ;)

Mine have flower spikes on them now, but only because I put them under my plant shelter for the winter, which I usually don't do. I don't remember if I got flowers the first year or not, but have gotten them every year since. This is probably the most neglected plant I have. The pot that they are in is badly broken about half way down on one side. I always just forget about them after they bloom. They get water when it rains and I have never fertilized the poor things. I am afraid if I start taking care of them they will quit blooming.
