Alright people, can anyone guess what I've got in this small pouch? Hint: it is something which we all have seen, and liked a lot. Another bigger hint, Frank was the one who had brought it to our attention. Guess? ( photo / image / picture from S-H's Garden ) Guess Again! ( photo / image / picture from S-H's Garden )
Wrong! Try again! Don't forget Frank had showed it to us first - And we all wished that we could have it too. I want see if you guys can figure out what's inside the velcro pouch. Come on people, it's too easy - How can you not remember it!?
It's that foldup 'shovel' that can also be a saw, hammer, dinner plant, cooking pan, bottle opener, maybe not those last three things but at least a dozen other things, that the video showed being used by the Chinese military. I have been forgetting to check out the Army/Navy surplus stores to see if they have them.
That's right Netty, Eileen, and Toni! It is that very same Chinese military Shovel (which Frank once told us about)! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b60OZhrTB6o Well, actually this noe is a Pakistan copy of the Chinese shovel. Due to certain legalities, this version hasn't got the razor blade edge or the wire cutter built in it (as it would than become a weapon, which cannot exactly be sold in the gardening section of the supermarkets). But everything else is the same, including the saw blade on the other edge of it. Really an extremely useful tool - So much so that instead of using it in my garden, I have put it in my survival kit! Oh wow S-H, now I remember! That tool looked so useful. Please update us with any adventures using it. The mystery is over
I'd love to have one just to keep in the truck. And then maybe another one to keep at home. Looks like a super-useful tool indeed.
And would you guys believe that it was just for 500 Rupees! That's less than 6 US Dollars! Don't know why the home shopping network isn't showing things like these to it's viewers - Instead they always showcase gardening items which are too delicate, not at all easy to maintain, and generally useless in every respect...
