I just realized that I should ask here. Might be the wrong section but I don't know what to classify it as.

I have a young Gunnera plant, not sure what specific one but I need help to protect it. It is in a very small pot right now and the leaves are dying off which I expected. My worry is that with as wet as it has been that the bulb, rhizome or whatever it grows from is gonna rot. All I do know it is a species that gets HUGE leaves, up to 3 feet across I was told anyway.

What should I do to protect it? I have a large planter I can put it in and bury it in potting soil to the right level. Should I leave it alone and do this in the spring? Should I bring it indoors and let it hybernate in the garage to protect? What should I do?
