    I was jealous of Pianoladys picture so I had to show my butterfly too ;) I think its a swallowtail too, but not sure. What do you think?

    I think it's gorgeous! :D I love those soft blue tones near the tail, and the pattern on the wings is magical.

    Yep yours is a Swallowtail...an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail like Pianolady's
    They are gorgeous. My part of north Texas is on the far western edge of their range so the one I have only seen one in my yard.

    Yep, that's the same butterfly. Nice photo, it's hard to catch them with their wings open long enough to photograph.
