After 32 years with the Veteran's Administration hospital system, I'll be retiring on Halloween. Monday, November 1st will arrive as my first day of intentional joblessness in 50 years. Toni and I have simple plans, but we're looking forward to a freedom we've never had.
Wow! 32 years in one place is a long time! Congratulations on your upcoming retirement. May it bring you boundless joy!
Thanks to all! Our plans are simple. Do some things around the house, go places during the day that we couldn't go before, and later on do some traveling around Texas.
Good luck to you, if you've plenty of hobbies, retirement is a great time. For the first six months, whatever you're doing, you'll have a vague thought in the back of your mind that, "you really should be somewhere else." I took early retirement in 1998, it's been like a complete new life. Halloween?
In making preparations for his retirement I quit cooking a few months ago. Figured I would get a head start my retirement too.
Ha ha ha....Toni, well done. Enjoy. So then, are you guys looking for a live-in cook to cater to you every culinary needs?
Good luck to you both @Evil Roy and @toni You'll wonder how you ever had time for work when you find so much to do.
